Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, officially known as the Periyar Tiger Reserve, is one of India’s most famous wildlife destinations, located in Thekkady, Idukki District, Kerala. The best time to visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is from October to May, when the weather is pleasant and wildlife sightings are more frequent. Early morning and evening boat safaris provide the best opportunities to spot animals near the lake.
